The useful starting point

One FIT file is enough to get started. A Strava archive can recover a wider history. Keep the full ZIP intact when importing it into EndurTrack.

Choose a source for the information you need

For one ride, export the original file from your head unit or watch service when that option is available. FIT files can include power, heart-rate and position series. Their presence depends on what was recorded: a file format cannot create missing measurements.

For a history already stored in Strava, request a bulk export from your account settings. Labels and processing times can change; follow the official procedure linked in the sources. Once the archive arrives, keep it intact for import.

Import into EndurTrack

Create your account and verify your email address. Open settings and find the activity import and Strava data section. Select an activity file or the full ZIP. Follow progress before starting another import of the same archive.

For large archives, EndurTrack uploads chunks to temporary storage and a worker processes the file. Importing can take time: a page that does not immediately show every ride does not necessarily indicate a failure.

When Strava identifiers are available, EndurTrack retains them to recognise activities during a later sync. Files from different sources without a common identifier should not automatically be assumed identical; check the activity list after mixed-source imports.

What can the available data actually support?

Training load uses the best available signal: power, relative effort, heart rate or an estimate based on duration. Those levels of information are not equivalent. A GPS track without power cannot measure FTP, even when the route is detailed.

Estimated FTP requires usable power efforts. Interval analysis depends on file quality and resolution. If a result appears uncertain, review its source and confidence before using it to change a session.

From an archive to a decision for this week

After import, check the period covered and your recent activities. Enter availability and a goal, then inspect the coach's proposal. The purpose of history is to place this week in the context of recent training load, rather than simply collect files.

You can try the public generator before creating an account. It illustrates session distribution without reading any personal activities. Moving into your account lets you work with your own history and check-ins.

Common questions

Do I need a Strava subscription to import a FIT file?

Importing a file into EndurTrack does not use the Strava API. You need access to the file you want to import.

Can a GPX file provide FTP?

No. A route without usable recorded power cannot provide an FTP measurement.

Should I unzip my Strava archive first?

No. Select the complete ZIP: EndurTrack associates activity summaries with the files available in the archive.
